Series IV Components
35mm 'Stiletto' Bayonet Camera Mounts
Additional 35mm bayonet modular mounts are available for all manual, AF, and digital EOS, Nikon, Olympus, Minolta, Pentax, Canon, Yashica and other cameras. All mounts fit the Series IV body module and are interchangeable. If you have different cameras, you can easily change from one mount to another instantly. All mounts can attach to the Series IV body or may be used standalone for focusing. Each comes with our black chromium 300 line/inch ronchi screen. Modular mounts for Medium Format cameras are also available separately and are listed in our pricing section.
Additional CCD Modular 'Stiletto' Camera Mounts
Separate modular mounts are available for all S.B.I.G, Meade, Starlight Xpress, Apogee, Genesis, Finger Lakes, and SAC CCD camera systems. Each mount is calibrated for your particular model of camera and comes with our black chromium 300 line/inch ronchi grating. If you have more than one camera system, additional modular mounts allow you to change from one to the other on the fly. The front of all mounts employ an M42 x.75mm standard t-thread to attach the included nosepiece, or to attach directly to a t-adapter..
Series IV 'Stiletto' True Knife-edge Assembly
The True Knife-edge Assembly, available as an option with the Series IV, lets the user experience true knife-edge focusing the easy way. While designed with the perfectionist in mind, using it with the Series IV allows even novices to easily get a handle on this approach. The True-Knife Assembly simply swaps in place of the ronchi screen in the 'Stiletto' housing. No recalibration is necessary. Pull the ronchi screen out, and then snap the True-Knife in. It's that easy.
Additional 'Stiletto' Ronchi Screens
The standard model Series IV comes with a 180 line/inch ronchi grating installed. There may be occasions, however, when a higher resolution screen may be desirable. This depends largely on the darkness of your sky and the objects you are focusing on. In general, darker skies permit you to use a higher resolution screen which, in turn, results in more precise focusing. You may also find it worthwhile to use a higher resolution grating when using your equipment with a field reducer or coma corrector to compensate for changes in depth of field. An additional black chromium ronchi screen is available in a 300 lpi resolution as well as the True Knife-edge Accessory above.
Storage and Carrying Case
A Carrying Case to store the Series IV and components is available separately. This rugged case measures 10"x 10"x4" and comes with die-cut foam to well protect the focuser during travel and storage.
